CATEGORIES IN THE RACE

Algarve Bike Challenge participants compete in their respective categories. Categories are determined by gender and by the age of the youngest rider as of 31 December in the year in which the race takes place.

SOLO

Elite Men and Women: Male or female riders aged between 19 and 29.
Master 30 Men and Women: Male or female riders aged between 30 and 39.
Master 40 Men and Women: Male or female riders aged between 40 and 49.
Master 50 Men and Women: Male or female riders aged between 50 and 59.
Master 60 Men and Women: Male or female riders aged 60 or over.

A minimum of five registered and confirmed riders is required by the registration deadline for each individual category to be established.

PAIRS

Open Men: Both riders are men, and the younger rider is under 40.
Women: Both riders are women, and the younger rider is under 40.
Masters: Both riders are aged 40 or over.
Master Women: Both riders are women aged 40 or over.
Grand Masters: Both riders are aged 50 or over.
Mixed: The pair consists of one male and one female rider, and the younger rider is under 40.
Master Mixed: The pair consists of one male and one female rider, both aged 40 or over.

A minimum of three registered and confirmed pairs is required by the registration deadline for each Pairs category to be established.

Minimum age: All riders must be aged 19 or over as of 31 December in the year in which the race takes place.
